Pam & Barry’s Team is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Two Hearts animal adoption event at Lawton’s city animal shelter on Saturday, April 6th. With our sponsorship, anyone adopting a pet that day at the animal shelter will get the adoption fee waived. We hope that the event will bring some needed companions into loving homes. So if you know of someone who needs a pet, tell them to come out between 10 AM and 2 PM on April 6th to the Lawton Animal Shelter at 2104 SW 6th St.
The following Saturday, April 13th, is the Dancing for Children’s United event at 6 PM at the Apache Casino Hotel. The event is a fundraiser to help the city build a special playground for children with disabilities in Elmer Thomas Park. Several well-known Lawtonians, including our own Pam Marion and Chuck Webber (The Lawton Board of Realtors President for 2019), will participate in a Dancing With The Stars-type event. Tickets are $50, and it should be a great evening of fun. If you’d like tickets, visit the event website at https://www.eventbrite.com/o/children-united-18647921051.
Then on Saturday, May 4th, the city of Lawton will be holding its annual Trash Off. Starting at 8 AM, groups can pick up supplies at the Great Plains Museum to collect trash around town. The city will also have receptacles in front of the museum for disposing of large waste items and items trash collections don’t usually pick up like paint, etc. We’re going to spend the day cleaning up around our building and along 38th St. The city and the Lawton Enhancement Trust Authority would like other groups and people to participate as well. If you have a group interested in helping please contact Lawton Neighborhood Services at 580-581-3467.
